On Wednesday, February 23rd, FFA members got the chance to compete in a Sub-District FFA Leadership Contest of their choice. Sub-District FFA Leadership Contests were held at Mt Ayr High School with many other FFA members in the South Central District. We had quite a few members compete and step out of their comfort zones. Competing in FFA Creed Speaking was Abby Leahy ’25, who received a Silver Rating and is advancing to Districts.
Makenna Perkins ’25 and Adeline Stone ’25 both competed in the Greenhand quiz, with Perkins receiving a Gold Rating and Stone receiving a Bronze Rating, both advancing to districts.
Grant Boyd ’23, who competed in Agriculture Sales, received a Gold Rating and is going to Districts.In Agriculture Broadcasting, Madison Leahy ’22 received a Silver Rating and will be competing again at Districts.Competing in Prepared Public Speaking, Chloe Hamaker ’22, received a Gold Rating and will also be going to Districts.
In Extemporaneous Speaking, Annika Evertson ’23 received a Gold Rating and will be competing at Districts.On the Conduct of Meetings team, Hadley Bell ’24, Haley Oesch ’24, Jamie Oesch ’24, Bly Hunt ’24, Mikayla Morgan ’24, Brayden Frisbie ’24, and Aniston Jones ’24 received a Bronze Rating, and will not advance.The Parliamentary Procedure team, Jenna Young, Addie Graham ’22, Kendra Williams ’22, Lexi Jensen ’23, and Matthew Coffelt ’23 received a Gold Rating and are competing at Districts.
The South Central District FFA Convention will be held on Saturday, March 5 in Adel, IA. Congratulations and good luck to all of these members!
