This week, Central Decatur Community School District proudly celebrates Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week, a time dedicated to recognizing and honoring the incredible individuals who make our schools strong, safe, and successful places for students to learn and grow.
From teachers and paraeducators to office staff, bus drivers, food service workers, custodians, and administrators — every staff member plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations of our district. Their unwavering dedication, care, and passion for education create a positive and nurturing environment for all.
Throughout the week, students, families, and community members are encouraged to join in the celebration and show appreciation in meaningful ways. Here are a few simple ways to thank a staff member:
Ways to Show Your Appreciation
- Write a Thank-You Note – A handwritten note from a student or parent can brighten a staff member’s entire week.
- Send a Kind Email – A quick message expressing your appreciation goes a long way.
- Give a Shoutout on Social Media – Tag the school or district and share a positive story or memory!
- Create Student Artwork or Cards – Younger students can draw pictures or create thank-you cards to share.
- Bring a Small Treat – A favorite snack, coffee, or even a flower is a thoughtful gesture.
