CD Host College, Military and Career Fair

On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, the Central Decatur FCCLA partnered with the Graceland TRIO Talent Search and the Central Decatur Counseling Department to host a College, Military, and Career Fair.

The event was created to help students learn about the different paths they can take after graduating high school, as well as give them real opportunities to explore their futures.

A total of 28 businesses and 17 college and military representatives attended the fair. Their booths allowed students to ask questions, make connections, and learn more about job opportunities, training programs, college majors, and military service options. The event brought together all Central Decatur students in grades 9-12, as well as Mormon Trail students in grades 9-12, giving both schools’ students a chance to explore valuable resources.

Along with visiting the booths, students had the chance to participate in mock interviews, helping them practice important communication and job-readiness skills. Volunteers offered guidance on interviewing, professional behavior, and how to present themselves with confidence.

The overall goals of the project were to increase student awareness of future opportunities, support them in making informed decisions, and provide hands-on experiences that prepare them for life after high school. Thanks to the strong collaboration between school organizations and community partners, the event gave students a meaningful look at the possibilities that await them after graduation.
