We are proud to announce that Central Decatur’s Business Law class has earned the prestigious 2025–2026 Carrie Chapman Catt Award, presented by Iowa Secretary of State Paul D. Pate!
This spring, students will travel to the Iowa State Capitol to accept their award and meet with Secretary Pate and other state leaders.
To earn this award, students organized and hosted a voter registration drive and successfully registered over 98% of the senior class. Throughout the project, students gained valuable skills in business communication, event planning, and legal literacy.
The class worked with Decatur County Auditor Stephanie Daughton and the Rotary Club of Decatur County to kick off the event. Pictured below are members of the Business Law class, Mrs. Carpenter, and Auditor Daughton on the day of the drive.
