Future Problem Solving State Competition

Two teams of North Elementary students competed in the Future Problem Solving State Competition held at Central College on April 14. Students were challenged to solve a future scene using a six-step model incorporating critical and creative thinking, problem solving, and decision making. After completing their writing packet, they had to create and perform a skit to represent their future scene action plan.

The fifth grade team included Emery Campbell, Layla Hanthorn, Rowan Perkins, and Lucy Yoder. Sixth grade team members were Kinlee Allen, Kimber Leahy, and Betty Stoner.

“I really enjoyed the day, but presenting the skit in front of a large group made me nervous.” – Layla Hanthorn

“Being on the Central College campus was fun, and the Central Market food was the best!” – Lucy Yoder
