IHSSA State Speech Contest

Sending four speech performances to the Iowa High School Speech Association’s Southwestern State contest at Ames High School, Central Decatur School returned home with two top division I ratings and two division II ratings.

The CD Individual Speech Team that earned their places at the state contest consisted of Anden Hall (Senior and first year in speech) and Allison Rheuport (Junior) who earned Division I ratings for their performances in Original Oratory and Payton Phillips (Senior) and Macson Lindsey (Sophomore and first year in speech) who earned division II ratings in Original Oratory and Solo Musical Theater.

Speech coach Mrs Hall reflected on their performances, stating, “I am incredibly proud of our students for their hard work and dedication. Earning two Division I (Superior) ratings and two Division II (Excellent) ratings at the state level  is a testament to their talent and commitment to excellence. Each performance showcased not only their skills but also their passion for speech, and I can’t wait to see how they continue to grow in the future.”
