Sixth Grade Math Works with Decimals in Dinner Party Plans

Sixth grade math students have started to work with decimals this week. Their first decimal task was to work together with a group to plan a dinner party for 8 people with a budget of $50.00. Students used a recent grocery store advertiser to plan their meals – which had to include a main dish, two side dishes and a dessert. Pictured are sixth grade students looking through the many choices in the ad to make their selections and begin calculating their total costs.
