Central Decatur to Host Healthy Kids Iowa Summer Food Program

Central Decatur is proud to announce our participation in the Healthy Kids Iowa program, a statewide initiative aimed at supporting families with school-aged children during the summer months. This program provides free, supplemental food to qualifying families in June, July, and August—a critical time when school meals are not available.

Families with children ages 4 to 18 may be eligible, particularly if the child qualifies for free or reduced-price school lunches. The goal is to help ensure that all students have access to nutritious food while school is out of session.

Food distribution will take place at the Central Decatur Food Pantry on the following dates:

  • June 9
  • July 14
  • August 11

Families do not need to register in advance—they simply need to come during the scheduled pickup times.

In addition to these dates, the Central Decatur Food Pantry is open every Monday from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM, except on July 7. The pantry is open to all families of Central Decatur students.
