Preschool learned all about fire safety this week. They learned what to do if there is a fire and practiced how to call 9-1-1. Students also learned what to do if they caught on fire. Students demonstrated covering their face and using stop, drop, and roll to put the fire out. They ended the week visiting the Fire Station, where Fire Chief Doug demonstrated the clothing firefighters wear and what a firefighter looks like dressed up in all the gear. He informed the preschoolers not to be scared because they are there to help! Students were able to climb into the fire truck and look around. We were all encouraged to discuss with our families where our meeting spot is if our house would catch on fire. What a great reminder to discuss this at home!
