Agriculture Students Engage Elementary Students

Story Submitted by Hadley Bell ’24 and Lexi Jensen ’23

On Wednesday March Eighth, students and FFA members that are a part of the agriculture classes at Central Decatur traveled  to both the North and South Elementary schools to present the Food for America Program. Throughout the morning the agriculture students and FFA members led presentations that included several different areas of agriculture and spread awareness about how agriculture impacts our world. There were many different areas of agriculture discussed, this included: machinery safety, small animals, feed sacks, artificial insemination, soil erosion, dirt cups, welding, livestock vaccinating, mini greenhouses, and so much more. Both the highschool and elementary students always look forward to this day. All of the students advocate and learn about agriculture in our world today.
