Central Trail FFA Places Fourth at the 2023 Iowa FFA Experience the Action Leadership Development Event

The Iowa FFA Experience the Action Leadership Development Event (LDE) was held at the Iowa State Center, Ames, on Monday, April 17, 2023. Twelve chapters participated in this year’s LDE. Central Trail FFA tied for fourth with a Bronze rating. The team includes (pictured above L to R): John Newman, Mildred Waugh, Cortlynn Cook, Morgan Buckingham, and Megan Young.

The first place chapter for the event was the Waverly-Shell Rock FFA Chapter. Their agriculture education instructor and FFA advisor is Mrs. Amy Mitchell. The second place chapter for the event was the West Liberty FFA Chapter. Their agriculture education instructors and FFA advisors are Mr. Zach Morris, Ms. Elyse Buysse, and Ms. Michele McMichael. Team members developed enthusiastic presentations that marketed Agricultural Education and FFA. This program serves to inform and educate the general public regarding the benefits and activities of Ag Ed/FFA programs. The Experience the Action LDE was made possible with support from U.S. Army ROTC through the Iowa FFA Foundation.
