“Surround yourself with people who have dreams, desire, and ambition; they’ll help you push for, and realize your own.”

For two days agriculture students from Central Decatur Community School, Lamoni Community School, Mormon Trail Community School, and Clarke Community School were provided the opportunity to do just this through Beef A.I. Certification at the Lamoni Livestock Auction! We are incredibly fortunate to have individuals in our community that are willing to push our students to reach their dreams, desire, and ambitions. Jason Allen of Lamoni Livestock Auction, Ty Hunt, Jon Rockhold, Daryn Yoder, Nate Pierschbacher, Alysha Van Laar of American State Bank, Decatur County Cattlemen’s, Community Meat Processors, and Genex Beef Genetics all made this opportunity possible by providing facilities, knowledge, meals, and materials.

Following a day of classroom training with agriculture instructors Lacey Whitaker, Brandi Boyd, Mona Baker, and Rosa Sondag, students were excited to spend time working with cattle and planning their own A.I. Protocol through sire selection, researching A.I. kit supplies, and determining the system they would use to A.I. their own cattle.

Rosa Sondag, Central Decatur Ag Instructor, wishes to extend her appreciation, “This class would not be possible without the support from all involved, but I would be remiss if I didn’t send out a huge thanks to Ty Hunt and Jason Allen who saw the value of this opportunity two years ago and never faltered in making this opportunity a reality!”
