Art 4 Students Develop Advanced Drawing Skills with Nine New Shading Techniques

Textural Methods of Rendering means shading techniques.  Art 4: Advanced Drawing students learned 9 different shading techniques.  They had to use at least five of these in their final unit drawing.  Above you see the beautifully detailed drawing of “The Farm” by DeLaney Brown ’24.  She incorporated seven different techniques including: hatching, cross-hatching, stippling, contour lines, accent lines, smudge and kneaded eraser.  Well done, DeLaney!
