The Central Decatur Community School District is taking a in-depth, long-term examination of how our facilities can best support student learning. As part of this effort, the District is partnering with experts and engaging students, staff, and community members to assess current buildings, identify future needs, and develop fiscally responsible plans for improvement.
Where We Are Today: Our Facility Assessment Findings
To establish a clear, factual baseline for our planning, Central Decatur partnered with Denovo Construction Solutions, an independent engineering and construction firm, to complete a thorough Facility Condition Assessment of all our district buildings.
They checked completed a thorough assessment of our heating and cooling, plumbing, electrical wiring, structural safety, and accessibility. While the report shows that our staff has done a wonderful job maintaining what we have, it also reveals that many of our critical systems have simply reached the end of their lifespan and need to be modernized.
