To kickoff National FFA week on Sunday we hosted a movie night at the school and watched The Blind Side. Lots of kids came and had popcorn and pizza. On Tuesday, our dress up day was dressed in your best cowboy attire. We had a roping contest for whoever was dressed in cowboy gear. The winners were SRO Kloster, Kathy Akers, Thor, and Bentley Jones was the middle school winner. We had our first annual Chili Cook Off and Steve Schmidt received a first place plaque. The Central Trail Officer team all went to Labota and enjoyed themselves with Ashley Dittmer, Mr. Zach Clark, and Mr. Rick Rhum. Wednesday we recognized our greenhands with green shirts and green paint. The officer team painted them for the day and they each had an animal sound. If their name was called on they had to make that sound. The dress up day was blue and gold. The ag trivia winners were Cortlynn Cook and Riley Benda. Our chapter was honored with a donation in honor of Tia Cambell’s grandmother. We will use this money for agricultural awareness day! Lastly, Fresham decorated cookies for every FFA member with the help of “ A Spoonful of Sugar.” On Thursday, the dress up day was camo day. Kids had a scavenger hunt. The middle schoolers picked the best dressed and presented Mason Sego with a “dead head.” Kids had another chance to win a prize in ag trivia. Friday was a busy day! The dress up day was for a friend and a farmer. The farmer had to feed the “animal” a jello cup to win. Our winners were Kendall Hatfield and Macson Lindsey. Riley Benda brought her duck into the classroom for the day. He sure was noisy! We had our annual kiss the animal contest. All week kids voted for who they wanted to kiss the animal. Our winner was Dorota Bear! Ajae and his family brought a cow for her to kiss. Not only did Dorota get to kiss the cow, she picked a student as well. The Olympics took place at lunch again, but boy it was intense. The kids played musical chairs. The final day we hosted our car show. Our winners were Loudest Kason Cowden, Oldest Leighanna Bundt, and Tallest Bailey Dittmer. FFA week was a successful and fun show.
