Central Decatur National Honor Society Teacher of the Year

Each year senior National Honor Society members vote on a teacher of the year to be recognized during their Senior Awards Night. The nominations are based on a teacher who has impacted them most by displaying the pillars of the National Honor Society. These characteristics include scholarship, service, leadership, and character. This year’s recipient of the National Honor Society Teacher of the Year is Melissa Linhart. Senior NHS member Lauren Martin presented the award to Mrs. Linhart during the Senior Awards Night on Tuesday, May 10th. While Lauren was introducing the award to Mrs. Linhart she said, “She [Mrs. Linhart] is always trying to make a difference whether it’s in the school or in her students’ lives. It doesn’t matter to her if it is the students in her class right now or former students; she is always helping them grow and prosper.”
