Central Trail FFA Uses Memorial Donation to Fund Purchase of Agriculture Children’s Books

Recently the Central Trail FFA received a Memorial Contribution to honor Loren Parkhurst. Although our FFA Officer Team did not know Loren personally, we quickly learned that Loren loved agriculture, where he completed all types of farm work, and that he also loved watching his girls play sports, family vacations, and trips to the Iowa State Fair. Armed with this knowledge, the Central Trail FFA Officer team discussed many ways to pay tribute to Mr. Parkhurst, and ultimately decided to share the story of agriculture through books in memory of his name. With the help of Mrs. Machelle Nernes-Clark and Mrs. Sara Linhart the FFA Officer Team was able to purchase several agriculture-themed books for the Central Decatur North Elementary and Central Decatur South Elementary. Thank you to the Leann Boles Family for their memorial contribution in order to purchase the books in Mr. Parkhurst’s memory.
