Middle School students participated in a Battle of the Books competition. Members of the middle school team, The Reading Rats, included Trystan Hadlock, Lola Helton, Piper Helton, Grace Leahy, Cadley Tharp, and Beau Waugh. Students read books from a preselected Iowa Teen Award list. A statewide competition was held on April 14. The featured guest author was Kelly J. Baptist, who wrote The Swag is in the Socks.
