DeLaney Paints a Masterpiece Again

Senior art student, DeLaney Brown, was chosen by her high school art teacher, Julie Pedersen, to paint a mural at The Bait Shop at Little River Lake. She painted a lake scene with fish native to Decatur County and also included the conservation’s educational animals Mort the Tort (a Russian tortoise) and Sal the salamander.  DeLaney put in over 60 hours to complete the mural. The conservation board and her art teacher are very pleased with her work.  This was a great opportunity for DeLaney.  She graduates in May and is heading to Graceland University to major in Elementary Education with an Art concentration.  Her future plans are to teach elementary art and may be for hire to paint murals in the summers.
