Agriculture Students Test Their Judging Ability At Gold Buckle Judging

On May 10, 2022 members of the Central Trail FFA journeyed to Ottumwa, Iowa to judge livestock and horses at the Gold Buckle Judging. The members of the livestock judging teams judged a couple of different species of animals.

SR Livestock Team

The first team consisted of Matthew Foltz ’24, Lane Leeper ’25, Wade Hill ’25, and Adeline Stone ’25. The team placed fifteenth out of twenty-eight teams.

SR Individual

Grant Boyd ’23 participated in the competition as an individual only and placed twenty-ninth out of one hundred and eight individuals. The other members also received individual placings: Matthew Foltz placed twenty-first out of one hundred and eight individuals, Lane Leeper placed sixty-sixth out of one hundred and eight individuals, Wade Hill placed ninety-sixth out of one hundred and eight individuals, and Adeline Stone placed eighty-first out of one hundred and eight individuals. 

SR Horse Team

Members of the senior horse judging team includes Cutter Frisbie ’26, Bly Hunt ’24, and Mason Allen ’26 this team places 7th overall out of 11 teams total.

JR Horse Team

The junior horse judging team includes Bianca Swartz ’26, Morgan Buckingham ’26, and Payton Bragg ’26. The junior team placed 4th overall out of 14 teams total. Individual results of the senior team: Cutter Frisbie – 26th out of 36 individuals, Bly Hunt – 22nd out of 36 individuals, Mason Allen – 25th out of 36 individuals. Individual results for the junior team: Bianca Swartz – 11th out of 53 individuals, Morgan Buckingham – 14th out of 53 individuals, Payton Bragg – 8th out of 53 individuals.
