Freshman students enrolled in an Introduction to Agriculture course have been exploring various animal industries and husbandry skills. Recently, students have investigated the beef and dairy cattle industry. As part of their curriculum, students researched detailed information regarding cattle breeds. From their research, students created, cut out, and colored look-alike pictures of their breeds to utilize within a Cattle Showmanship Show in class on Monday, April 8th. Experienced cattle showmen Beverly Nordyke and Laci Erke graciously served as the project judges and educated students about how to be successful herdsmen and showmen. Students participating in this cattle show simulation received prizes per class based on breed knowledge and showman presentation.
