Central Decatur FFA Celebrates National FFA Week: February 22-27, 2026

Central Decatur High School and Middle School are gearing up for an action-packed celebration of National FFA Week. This annual tradition is a time for our members to share the impact of agricultural education and showcase their FFA pride through a variety of engaging activities, competitions, and community events.

A Week of Tradition and Community
The week kicks off on Sunday, February 22, with a special invitation for members to attend their local church in Official FFA Dress or chapter apparel. That evening, families are invited to the Decatur County Fairgrounds for a drive-in movie featuring “Back to the
Future” at 8:00 PM.

Engaging Our Students
Throughout the week, students will participate in several high-energy events:
– Ag Olympics: Competition rounds for 7th-12th graders held in the HS Gym during seminar.
– Recruitment & Training: Leadership training sessions with Iowa FFA and South Central District Officers.
– Greenhand Initiation: Welcoming our newest members on Thursday morning at 7:30 AM.
– BBQ Cookoff: A delicious showdown during 7th hour on Thursday—don’t forget your crockpots!

Spirit Days and Daily Fun
We encourage everyone to join the fun by participating in our themed dress-up days:

– Tuesday: Official Dress Day (Group pictures will be taken!).
– Wednesday: Farmer’s Day Off (Dress for a relaxing day).
– Thursday: BBQ Dad vs. Barn Mom (Break out the spatulas and pitchforks).
– Friday: “Here By The Flag” (God Bless America/Patriotic theme).

We also look forward to our “Animal of the Day” segments featuring Riley’s Goat, Kamryn’s Turtle, Renata’s Cat, and Lola’s Guinea Pigs.

Join us in celebrating the future of agriculture!
