South Central CDE Day

We had 42 Middle and High School FFA members compete at CDE Day. This was held on September 19, 2023, in Osceola, IA. Congratulations to everyone who attended. We had a great turnout and a lot of learning!

Advanced Horse Judging had a total of 14 teams and 44 individuals. Our chapter sent two teams. The first was formed by Riley Benda (21st), Cooper Horton (23rd), Bly Hunt (25th), and Krey Hunt (27th). They ranked 7th as a team. The second team was put together by Cutter Frisbie (12th), Gus Oesch (17th), and Mason Allen (22nd). This team placed 5th overall.

There were 53 teams and 162 individuals for Advanced Livestock judging. There were two Advanced Livestock Judging teams. The first team was Hadley Bell (43rd), Braeden Thomas (74th), Cord Hamilton (78th), and Wade Hill (89th)They ranked 21st overall. The second team was put together with Lane Leeper (53rd),Coby Martin (82nd), and Matthew Foltz (105th). They placed 24th as a team.

Novice Horse Judging had 53 teams and 150 individuals. There were three Novice Horse Judging teams. The first team was made up of Landi Leeper (12th), Maci Hamilton (79th), and Kinsley Hiebing (139th)The second team was created by Jerzee Schnick (77th)and Kendall Hatfield (80th). The third team was Madison Horton (3rd), Kinlee Allen (19th), and Izabelle Patterson (59th). They placed 1st as a team.

There was 83 team and 278 individuals for Novice Livestock Judging. Our chapter sent three Novice Livestock Judging teams. The first team was Bryse Auxier (82nd), Aubree Surber (140th), Jordan Dittmer (150th), and Ajae Mendenhall (268th). They ranked 36th as a team. The second team was made up of Gibson Graham (10th), and Slater Keeney (237th). They placed 70th as a team. The third team placed in 75th place; Ocean Mathis (73rd), and Bentley Hearron (260th). 

Soil Judging had a total of 53 teams and 172 individuals. Our chapter brought three different teams. Our first team Cortlynn Cook (77th), Milli Waugh (48th), and Piper Teel (73rd), placed 15th overall. The second team ranked 22nd as a team. Which was made up of Lucas Lindsey (115th), Megan Young (101st), Morgan Buckingham (141st), and Morgan Havlik (31st). Our third team was created by Bianca Swartz (36th), Aidyn Marvin (151st), and Zoey Hamilton (74th). This team placed 23rd overall.
