South Elementary students in grades K-2 recently received a special literacy surprise, courtesy of author Chris Helene Bridge. In a generous effort to foster a lifelong love for reading, Bridge donated a personal copy of her book, AppleTime, to every single kindergarten, first-grade, and second-grade student to take home and keep.
The young learners were thrilled to receive their new books, and staff expressed deep gratitude for community partnerships that inspire literacy beyond the classroom walls. A big Central Decatur thank you goes out to Chris Helene Bridge for supporting our early readers and helping make reading at home even more exciting!
