The Central Decatur boys track team won their first Pride of Iowa Conference championship! Conference rival Mount Ayr and the home team Cardinals traded the point lead multiple times as the conference meet progressed. Fortunately, though, consistent Cardinal performances proved to total more team points by the meet’s conclusion. At the start of the last race, CD led Mount Ayr by just five points. The Raiders won that final event, the 4 x 400m relay, but the Cardinals finished right on their heels in second place. The points CD gained with that finish left them at the top in total points, securing their Pride of Iowa Championship title for the 2021 season.
