Recently, Mr. Kistler’s Intro to Technology class learned how to change a vehicle’s oil. With varying ability levels, Mr. Kistler relied on those with experience to help identify the steps of the process and where the various tools and parts were located. Others, with less experience, were eager to step in and do the work – from operating the lift, draining the oil and changing the oil filter to adding new oil and checking the oil levels, students got their hands dirty in this hands-on experience. After learning the process, students have been able to practice their skills on their own and other community vehicles with Mr. Kistler closely supervising the process.
