Foods Class Explores Cultures Through Cookies

As part of the Intro to Foods class, students learn about other cultures. This year’s winter theme was Christmas Around the World. Not only did students research traditions around the globe but they also got to learn how to make cookies from each of these countries including Mexican Snowball Cookies, Madagascar Vanilla Bean Cookies, German Coconut Macaroons, and more. After a trial run and making adaptations to their recipes, these students put their culinary skills to the test as they prepared another round of cookies for the Leon Noel event. These students baked nearly 300 of the 600 cookies served at this event.
